Lightbulb Same class groups

Lets get theorycrafting: If you make an eight player party of one profession, wich will do best?

Warrior: Durable, good potential. Can be nuked, not so great at self healing.

Ranger: Waves of arrows, traps, a banquet of spirits. Lots of possibilities.

Elementalist: Guaranteed to kill something every second, all kinds of weaknesses tough.

Monk: Wont ever die . Wont ever kill anything.

Mesmer: Can be invincible or laughable. It all matters on the builds.

Necro: Minions, anti heals. Could beat a monk team i guess. And most others too.

Assassins: A huge wallop of damage if every assa picks his own target.

Ritualist: So many spirits on screen your PC overheats. GG.

Obviously you've never seen an 8 monk smite team.

Is this for PvP or for doing a mission or farming in PvE? If it's PvE, really any of them (except maybe assassin) will do just fine.

I also think the mesmer team will do very well whatever it is for obvious reasons.

I disagree with this. Smiting is surprisingly effective. I think a team of 8 monks would do well.

All in all, i would think a Mesmer group has the best potential. Eight ineptituders vs eight warriors/rangers anyone?

Or a half interrupt/ half migraine party maybe?

All mesmer team. Especially if you let that all-mesmer team be my all-guild team with our messies. :P

Too bad you can only have one of each type of spirit out at a time.

We should try this out, some kind of scrimmage knockout would prove the strongest class at this.. or not

I would think 8 Energy Surge mesmers would be pretty fun to watch in most PvE. With decent timing mobs could be wiped out in heartbeat.

Assuming this is for pve:
8 eles would work well, if they could use secondaries...
earth ele tank + wards
couple air eles spiking
e/mos healing + proting

8 monk teams just own face. Half smite, half heal seed + heal area, you'll never die.

8 ranger teams...it's like a B/P run, without the mm...

Energy Surge has to be the most overrated elite ever.

It's FoC spiking where it's at.

I think an all Ranger team has the biggest chance to finish the game. Rangers have their expertise, which makes them good at any profession they choose as seconday.
They'll be hated (Bunnies and touchers), but still the best choice of a team.

I'd love to see an all Rit team casting spirits and spells all over the place. Make some little kid's computer explode with pain spirits!

An all mesmer team already has cleared UW and The Deep, and Monks would do enough dmgh with smiting

As for warriors, 8 Paladins could own

8 man b/p team can do the tombs run if monks and necros aren't available. It's more challenging, but it's been done. I'd say rangers are versatile enough to be ok in PvE. Mesmers are interesting though. If they go 3/3/2, set up for different types of mobs, there's not much that can stop them in storyline PvE. I'd like to try an all mesmer tombs run.
